Full Metal Graphics
Working with a team of two, we created the concept of an exhibit based on the style and imagery of metal music and how it influenced design. I worked on the model set up to show the flow of the exhibit, the placement of each display, and the interactive elements. This exhibit resides in the Museum of pop culture, as seen, it includes a model rendering, interactive elements, and branding.
Unseen Wounds
After a whole year of researching my chosen social issue, veteran suicide, we had a show that focus on educating visitors about the data collected. Starting this process we made many sketches and created concepts for interactive elements for our exhibit. Playing off the title "Unseen Wounds: the reality of veteran suicide" my concept was to use the colors from the flag of red and blue to hide and reveal facts and statistics. When placing the red glasses on you revel the staggering truth how it effects our veterans. I want the take away from my exhibit to be to help our veterans in need because the resources and knowledge is available.
Unpack
For my senior show poster design I've approached it with the concept of "unpacking" the hard hitting topics that are being discusses. Anything from climate crisis to veteran suicide are up for discussion. The visual representation of this is the box. As shown, I took some reference photos and texture photos to get the ideas out there to structure a simple but powerful concept.
Senior Thesis
Our first project after choosing our social issue was to produce a clock that shows data collected while representing the issue visually. Having family in the military this topic is of great importance to me. My goal with the clock is to represent the unseen battle that our veteran's face rooted in mental health. The largest visual is the blue military camouflage, the center of it is the red brain showing distress or anger. The sharp hands of the clock show the danger that dwells within. The unseen element is the word "Unheard" it is only seem when one of the hands passes over it.
Serendipity App
Approaching an application concept and design I thought of traveling. The best part of traveling was to explore and experience the local community. When you come across ones you love and want to to support further by shopping locally I thought that an app would be an efficient way to do that. Helping the local economy can now be at your fingertips, rather than helping the big corporate companies.
Backing with Grandma
The goal that was to be achieved was to create a purely visual description of how to make a pie with a braided crust. Little wording had to be used when describing the process, only being used as subtext. The inspiration I draw from was my grandma. I used a picture I found of her and recreated it. It's perfectly nostalgic because growing up, I loved helping with baking with grandma. She was so patient and always let me taste test. To bring that joy I created a app that allows you to play on the go, the more wins you have the more recipes you unlock. Then if you purchase the book you receive a free apron with the games logo.
Hot Topic for Kidz
This Pop Up is a collaboration with an existing company with an out of the box element. My approach to this combination was the encourage kids to explore an alternative side of fashion openly without fear of ridicule.
Susan's Sugar Free Cookies
Starting this project off with a great product that was in need of some design assistance. This product is a local cookie making company that specializes in making diabetic friendly deserts. With a great premiss and even better ingredients the packaging should reflect the fun and healthy nature of this cookie plus who can deny a vegan and sugar free cookie!
Underground Press
Starting this project I was given a set of a letters, from that I created a branding system from a magazine publishing company named Underground Press. It publishes up and coming artists and bands also providing space for the alternative community.
